Toronto Maple Leafs blue liner Frank Corrado probably considers himself lucky.
On Wednesday night the 22-year-old delivered a high hit on Tampa Bay Lightning forward Ondrej Palat.
Corrado was only assessed a minor penalty for interference on the play while Palat was treated for a bloody nose on the Bolts’ bench.
Corrado is playing in just his fifth game with the Leafs since being claimed off waivers from the Canucks.
He does not have a history with the league’s department of player safety, but since the DoPS looks at all questionable hits – count this one as one they’ll look at more closely.
