Kris Letang can’t buy a break.
The oft-injured Penguins defenseman took a puck to the mouth on Monday night and needed repairs.
Penguins captain Sidney Crosby was attempting a pass to Letang near the Anaheim Ducks blue line when Chris Stewart got his stick in the way and re-directed it up and underneath the visor of the Pittsburgh defenseman.
Letang left the game immediately, along with a trainer, for repairs.
The 28-year-old leads all Penguins' blue liners with nine goals and 38 points in 41 games this season. Letang also leads all Pittsburgh defensemen in ice time averaging 26:12 a game.
